Living Blessed Part II

Read The Text Below For The Teaching:

In Part 1 of the series Positioning Yourself for Success, we talked about from Psalm 1:1-3 what it means to be blessed.

We are taught a very powerful truth on how to position ourselves for success.  It is such a simple truth that it is quite often missed.  No matter what your circumstance, whether you are in financial hardships, stressful relationships or bad health, you can easily and quickly apply these simple yet powerful principles and see immediate results.  Even if you are going well in life, you may seem successful but success may be coming at a price of over working, or at cost to your health and relationships, then these principles once put into place will give you effortless change and success.

The word blessed means to be Happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable.

I made the outrageous statement that if you were not happy, fortunate, prosperous and even enviable in your daily life and on a continuous basis then really you were not blessed and therefore out of God’s purposes.  Yes, to be blessed by God is to be happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable.  Wow, what a magnificent gift and blessing we have from God through Jesus Christ.

I then went to to explain that by applying a simple truth you can live a blessed life.  That is to

Delight and Desire in the law of God

Meditate or think on God’s law Habitually and Continuously

Now, how do you do this?  How do I delight and desire God’s word.  Well simply by following the new covenant commandments Jesus laid out for us.  There are only three commandments in the word of God that sums up all the commandments of the old covenant.

Love God

Love Your Neighbour

Preach/Share the Gospel

We love God because of His perfect love over us.  1 John 4:7-11 sums it up for us perfectly

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (NKJV)

As we allow God’s perfect love to abide within us, we are able to delight and desire the law of God.

To meditate continuously and habitually on God’s law is to do what Romans 12:2 says.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (NKJV)

Your mind can only be renewed through the Word.  Faith is activated by hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17).  As you make a purposeful effort to delve into the most exciting book of life that ever existed, your mind will be renewed and you life will begin to live in a blessed life.

So, two things you need to do to be blessed.  Receive God’s perfect love over your life thereby delighting and desiring the law of God and think on and read the word of God on a continuous basis so you mind is renewed in His truths.

I also mentioned in part 1 of this teaching on Positioning Yourself for Success that the benefits Psalm 1 lists in being blessed are as follows:

Total confidence – You shall be firmly planted in a flowing river of contentment.  There shall not be any lack nor wavering.

No Fear – Being planted by the river brings no fear of being burnt by the heat of hardships, economic crises, relationship or health issues.

Fruitfulness – You will always be generating an income, have great relationships and great health.  You life will not be determined by the external environment of the world but rather by where your roots are planted firmly in the river.

Vitality your leaves will always be green – they will not fade.  Strength will be in you all the days of your life.

Today I would like to share with you the three positions Psalm 1:1 instructs us to take as positions of success.  In fact, verse 1 of Psalm 1 instructs us what position not to take and the book of Ephesians instructs us on the position to take.  Praise God for the bible.

Remember the bible comments on and confirms itself.  It the most reliable commentary.

What are the three positions we are to take – Sit, Walk & Stand.

Psalm 1 tells how not to sit, walk or stand and Ephesians tells us how we are to sit, walk and stand in order to be blessed.  Remember Ephesians 1:3 states that we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  There’s that blessed word again and there’s the source of our blessing – in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.  Do you know that the word blessed in this scripture is from the root Greek word eulogeo (pronounced yoo-log-eh-o) which means to invoke a benediction upon, to prosper.  Wow that is amazing.  How blessed are we because of the new covenant of Jesus Christ.  David foresaw this new covenant in his time with the Lord and was excited by it.  The saints of old longed to live in our days when success in the Lord is effortless on our part as it has to do completely with the finished work of Jesus and not our own efforts.  Amen and thank God for that.

What I am trying to say here beloved is that we don’t have to work to be blessed.  But rather we are blessed with ALL blessings through Christ.  Our only effort on our part is to believe on Jesus and His promises.  To believe is to have faith.  Unbelief is what keeps us out of the benefits of being blessed.

What are the three positions we are to take up to be in a position of success. How we sit, walk and stand.

How we sit – Our Identity.  Psalm 1:1 – don’t sit with scoffers and mockers.  Those who don’t give honour to God.  Don’t hang around such company.  There is a saying who you hang around with is who you become.  Instead Ephesians 1:20 says we are to recognise that through Christ you are seated with Him in the heavenly realms.  Your identity is secured in the position He has graciously allocated for you through His blood.

If you identify and secure who you are as a child of God, then regardless of your position in the world, regardless of your failures and successes, your attitude in life will not be determined by these things but rather grounded in the Word of God.  Being seated in heavenly places puts the devil under your feet as you now have a heavenly view point and vantage.

How we walk – Our Purpose.  Psalm 1:1 – Don’t walk in the advise and counsel of the ungodly.  What can they tell you of your future?  Instead Ephesians tells us to

walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called (Eph 4:1)

walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. (Eph 5:2)

walk as children of Light (Eph 5:8)

Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people) (Eph 5:15)

Our walk therefore is to walk in our purpose and not in the advise of the world.  To walk in our purpose is to walk in our calling that God has called us after.  To walk in love to one another, to walk as an example of being a child of the light and to walk and live with purpose and on purpose.

How we stand – Our Fight for Victory.  Psalm 1:1 – don’t stand in the path of evil doers and sinners.  You are likely to get run over with evil, sin and the pleasure of this world that lead to destruction.  Instead, Ephesians 6:11-14 tells us to stand against the viles of the devil.  Take on a position of war that would battle this present age of evil so that God’s love can invade the earth through us and touch every person on this earth giving them a chance to hear the gospel of the Good News.

To position yourself for success it to be on the winning side.  Does it take effort – yes.  Faith without works is dead.  But, it doesn’t take our good works.  Our effort is to simply make the word of God our reality above the world – i.e. To believe in God and not to doubt His promises even when our present reality may contradict the word.  Our work is to believe on the One who sent Him.

Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”  John 6:29 NKJV

How we sit, walk and stand will play a significant role on what we believe on and in turn play a significant role on our success in being blessed – Happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable.

Which in turn gives us the benefits of

Total confidence

No Fear

Fruitfulness and

Vitality

I hope you are getting what this message is trying to convey.  Rather than waiting for the benefits before you start being happy, feel fortunate and being fruitful, instead as you believe that God has blessed you and you are blessed and take on a position of success, you will see the benefits flowing in.

Psalm 1:3: And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

Remember what I said in part 1 of this message.  Romans 10:17 states that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.  It then goes on further to say that faith without action is dead.  So therefore, you have just heard the word.  This will either produce or agree with your faith.  The next step is for you to put your new found truth in action and see results.

What must you do next?

Look at the page on Making Change – on sowing a seed of faith and not manna.  No, I am not talking about financial sowing, but something much more important that will yield results (fruit) in your life.  Click here to find out more.

Then come back and pray this prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father, I repent of not living life in the fullness that you have already paid for through your son Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary.  I have allowed the lies of this world and the devil to deceive me and influence my thinking.  I have not lived a blessed life even though it is readily available to me.  I repent of not spending time meditating on your word and being transformed by the renewing of my mind.  I repent of forgetting your perfect love over me that casts out all fear and brings life to my whole being.

And now, in the name of Jesus and on the authority through the Spirit of God, I command all lies and deception to leave my mind and I sow a seed of how blessed I am into my life today that will yield fruit for the rest of my days.  I thank God for being blessed, happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable.  I declare and decree that I have total confidence, no fear, fruitfulness and vitality in all areas of my life.  I declare and decree that I take on positions of Godliness in that I AM seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus and the devil is under my feet defeated.  I AM walking in the calling of God and in love.  And I AM standing and taking my ground against the viles and plans of the enemy.  I speak victory into my life.  In Jesus name. AMEN.

In Psalm 1, we are taught a very powerful truth on how to position ourselves for success.  It is such a simple truth that it is quite often missed.  No matter what your circumstance, whether you are in financial hardships, stressful relationships or bad health, you can easily and quickly apply these simple yet powerful principles and see immediate results.  Even if you are going well in life, you seem successful but success is coming at a price of over working, then these principles once put into place will give you effortless change and success.

Romans 10:17 states that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.  It then goes on further to say that faith without action is dead.  So therefore, you are about to hear the word.  This will either produce or agree with your faith.  The next step is for you to put your new found truth in action and see results.

So, let’s get started.

Psalm 1 gives us a simple truth and 3 powerful positions we can take in order to be blessed.  Psalm 1 verse 1 says “Blessed is the man….”  let’s stop there.  Blessed is the man…..what does it mean to be blessed.  The amplified version expounds this word blessed to mean – HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable.

Therefore, if today you are not happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable, then you are not blessed.  Wow, that is a wild statement.  But that is what the word of God says.  You are blessed – happy, fortunate, prosperous and enviable when you do 1 profound thing and take up 3 practical positions.

The Simple Truth

So, what is this profound thing that one must do to be blessed.  Simple, Psalm 1:2 states that one must

Delight and Desire in the law of God

Meditate or think on God’s law Habitually and Continuously

Wow, that’s it.

Sounds harder than you realise.  But before I go into how you do the above, I want to show you the benefits of this.

Psalm 1:3 – The benefits

Total Confidence – You shall be firmly planted in a flowing river of contentment.  There shall not be any lack nor wavering.  Jesus said that if any one comes to Him, He will give them rivers of living water and they shall thirst no more. (John 7:38) The searching for truth ends at the river.  Being planted by the river is a sign of confidence.  When you are blessed you are confident.

No Fear – Jeremiah 17:8 states that being planted by the river brings no fear of being burnt by the heat of hardships, economic crises, relationship or health issues.

Fruitfulness – You will always be generating an income, have great relationships and great health.  You life will not be determined by the external environment of the world but rather by where your roots are planted firmly in the river.  God’s blessing to the first man and woman on this earth still resonates down the ages to us His children through Jesus Christ – “Be fruitful and Multiply” Genesis 1:28

Vitality – your leaves will always be green – they will not fade.  Strength will be in you all the days of your life.  You won’t be just getting by life, you will be strong and of good health till the day you enter heaven.  Look at the story of Caleb in Joshua 14 & 15 when at the age of 85 he asks for the largest mountain for his inheritance and with it the biggest giants to fight.  He had vitality all the days of his life.

Do you see that when you engage in seeking the Lord and meditating on His word, you are physically blessed in all aspects of life.  No more can you say that you are living “hell on earth”  but instead you will say that heaven has invaded your life and the kingdom of God has materialised in both a spiritual and natural blessing.  Wow – what a wonderful God we have who loves us and loves seeing His children in good health and prospering.

By applying the simple truth of

Delighting and Desiring the law of God and

Meditating on God’s law Habitually and Continuously, you will be able to live in all the benefits outlined above.

So, how do you do this.  There are three very strategic positions you need to take – these will be discussed in detail in part II of Positioning Yourself for Success.

Signed with confidence that you can CaptureYourPurpose and live life to your fullest potential NOW.

Dear Child of God,

Last Monday week I had the previledge of sitting under the teaching of Dr Eldon Wilson.  Over 40 pastors and leaders were gathered together, organised by Pastor Jack and Swanny Kooy at Casey Life Church in Hampton Park.

Dr Eldon, Pastor Jack and Swanny

Please take the time to read this simple yet powerful message and the prophetic word to the church at the end of the message.

God bless you.

Rueben

What is God saying to the Church by Eldon Wilson

Dr Wilson Eldon

The church is a family.

There are a thousand things to separate us around the world such as different cultures, languages, etc but only one thing to bring us together.  And that outpasses all distractions.

The church in the world today will not remain powerless but it will emerge a powerhouse.

Restoration – the church must end the way it started out.

There are 4 things God uses in the scripture to describe the church

Eph 1

1 Cor 12

The physical body

A building (eph 2)

A solider – being a solider is being part of a unit

We do not have to be swayed by our temporary losses because we know the score, we have read the final page and our side won.  Jesus is as much Lord today as he will ever be.  His kingdom will continue to expand towards the end of days.

Unity = a family

What is a family basic description – a father, a mother, son and daughter

You can have four people stand up and give them a title of the above but they aren’t a family because there is no unity.  A family is a family because there is a bond by virtue of a union and by virtue of a birth.

We, the church our a family.  We are not necessarily identical.  There are differences in individuals in a family.  They don’t look alike, but there is a common bond and identity.

Certain fundamentals that we must all believe in

  • We must believe the bible is the word of God
  • We must believe in the deity of Jesus
  • We must believe in the sacrificial substitution of Jesus for our sin
  • We must believe that he is coming

We may have differing opinions, but if our heart is right then we’ll still make it into heaven.  God is not judging us on the accuracy of our standing but on the condition of our heart.

We are family.

1 person doesn’t make a family – it takes a group

Romans – deals with our personal relationship with the Lord,

Ephesians – deals with our corporate relationship with the Lord

Hebrews – deals with the better covenant we are under

The only thing Jesus said is that He would build his church.  He didn’t say He would build our ministry, but the church.  Our ministry is built through the church.

Gen 22 – When God told Abraham to offer Isaac is only son – why did God ignore Ishmael?  Because God ignores all the work of the flesh.  Therefore any work you do for God our of the flesh is ignored by God.

What is a family – brothers and sisters in a family may be different people but we share a common blood line

1 Cor 12, 14 – One of biggest illustrations of the church is that we are all part of the body.

Key principle – there should be no division in the body.

What in my behavior divides the body of christ – when I do not recognize other parts of the body.  Competition bring disunity.  We should all seek to enlarge our personal areas of ministry but we must recognise the other parts and not judge them based on our parts.

You may not know all the different parts of your physical human body, but you will feel it if one part doesn’t function properly.  In like manner, we may not know everyone in the body but we must ensure it functions.

If we have a ministry, where did you get it?  If you have a ministry God gave it to us.  Therefore everyone has been given a ministry from the Lord.

When Moses met God at the burning bush, he was given a 2-fold revelation

  • Without God I can do nothing
  • But I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me

I must have this revelation and understanding

When Moses met God at the burning bush, he was given a 2-fold revelation

  • Without God I can do nothing
  • But I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me

I must understand the depravity of my flesh.  If I don’t believe that I can fall, then I stop guarding myself and I begin to trust in my flesh and in my ministry.

When we take pride in how God has used us then we are susceptible to falling.  But when I am aware that I can fall, then I guard myself against the dangers of my flesh.

Why is unity important – an arm can only function when it’s attached.  If I become independent, it diminished my effectiveness.

Jesus said he is building his church which is his body.

The Church is a body and ability

A building has lots of parts to it, but it doesn’t become a building until all the parts are put together

Building our ministry is only important if it builds the church.

The bricks of a building were manufactured to be put together

When it is put together, it multiplies its value when it is complete

When I am independent, I have a value but it is a minimum value, but when it is put together with the body it becomes maximised beyond my value.

We are part of an army.  Soldiers don’t win wars – armies win wars.

Fight the good fight.

Every joint supplying – what is your gift?  How is your gift going to supply to the body.  It cannot supply if it works in isolation.

Unity – how do we get it?

Every christian believes in unity yet it’s the hardest thing to bring into being.

Submission to God and letting God deal with our attitudes.

We want the gifts of God but God in his wisdom will limit the power of our gifts until our character is built.

We don’t need the power of God to prove anything, we need it to bring deliverance.  Jesus didn’t operate out of the gifts but operated out of character – his compassion.  When we operate out of character we will see unlimited power.

The cross means death

The grave means life

Maturity – how do I know when I am mature?  The more I think I am mature, the less I am.  But the more I realise the weakness of my flesh and my dependence on Jesus, I am closer  to maturity.

Ministry can sometimes be our greatest obstacle to our maturity.

What size church do you have – it doesn’t make a difference.  It’s rather, are you fulfilling what God told you to do.

The word from the Lord to the church today is

GROW UP

The Team

Please feel free to leave comments on the blog and pass this to others.

In the words of Pastor Luke “If you have been here for more than 5 years and are still sitting in the pews than something is wrong”.  The job of the church is to equip you and send you out into your ministry.  Wow – what a wonderful out look.

Today I visited Firm Foundations Ministries in East Brunswick.  Dr Chuks Iheakor is the Senior Pastor along with Associate Pastors Luke, Ben and Casey.

What a wonderful message from Pastor Luke Iwunze today.  Here is a brief of it.

Also the pictures are of Pastor Luke, Dr Chuks, Pastor Ben and testimonies from various men and women of God plus a wonderful birthday celebration for a little sister in Christ.

It was wonderful gathering at a church that is Kingdom focused on equipping and sending you out.

Have a great week.

What Gives You The Right To Pray By Pastor Luke Iwunze (7/3/2010)

Prayer is communication but foundationally based on intimacy and relationship with God.  When praying,

  • You must recognise your calling and your authority.
  • You must know your rights as a citizen of heaven.
  • You must realise that your rights are based on the new covenant
    (2Cor 3:5-6)

Who are you in Christ?

  • You are redeemed in Christ
  • You are His Sons (children)
  • You are Rulers of this earth

What gives you the right to pray?

1. Satan has no authority over you.  Col 1:13
You have been delivered from the terror of Satan (Romans 6:14)

2. Sin has no authority of you
Grace is reigning in you not sin (Romans 5:20-21)

3. You have authority through the name of Jesus (John 14:12-14)
You are no longer on the defensive against the devil.
You have direct access, an open cheque book (John 16:23-24)
It is the believer’s right to use the name of Jesus

4. You have access to the Father through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:16)
The Father knows you (John 16:26-27) – You don’t need an introduction to the Lord.  He know you.  Heaven knows you already.

You have authority through The Word of God.  God’s presence and God’s unlimited power is available to you.
John 15:7 – The will of GOd is in the word of God
The backbone of our prayer is our agreement with the Word of God, our access in Christ and our unity with God’s purposes and God’s will.

A lawyer knows the law.  A son (child of God) must know the word of God when he/she stands in prayer.  Believers believe the gospel.

Power in prayer is not based on feelings.  Engage your feelings only in truth.

Question: Are you praying based on the effect of the fall or of the cross?

Dear  people of God,

Today as we gathered outside the Local Library and Leisure Centre at the YMCA in Endeavour Hills for our weekly prayer time, I was strumming the old song “I Worship You” when the mighty servant of God Aurelio felt inspired this morning in his prayer time and shared with us how when we look up at the heavens and admire the vast expense of the galaxies, we must never forget to adore the creator of this universe.

With that and the guitar strumming to the lyrics of “When I look into your holiness, When I gaze into your loveliness, When all things that surround become shadows in the light of You…..”, the heavens seem to open up and we felt that we were transported into a place of worship before our King and our Lord.

Jesus is truly amazing and what he reminded me of today is that HE IS THE ANSWER to ALL of life’s issues and problems.  We have many many other ways to heal sickness or create income or to have good relationships….and some are even godly, but none can compare to the Wisdom of God and His grace to answer simple, child-like faith-filled prayer.

Philippians 4:6-7 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Amen, I am in exuberant anticipation of what God is going to do this Saturday at the Prophetic Worship night at 7pm at Corner Stone building in Dandenong.  Come with anticipation as we continue to see the amazing works of God in our midst, equipping us to take the message of the Kingdom of Good News to the lost and dying.

How to Walk in Revival

Dear Pastor, Leader, Brother and Sister of the Lord,

I sincerely apologise if my last email sounded harsh regarding revival.  There are many brothers, sisters, pastors and leaders in the Kingdom walking in the victory of the cross and in the promises of His Kingdom.  The email was simply to alert each one of us as to our responsibility and great opportunity to see God move in our lifetime.  The answer is already amongst us.  let’s stop seeking and start or continue doing.

Here is an extract from the book Heavenly Man – words spoken by a brother and apostle of the Kingdom who has given his life to see God’s word preached.  His talk on Revival is to the point of what we must do here in the west.  Please read…..

I can assure the Western church with absolute certainty that you don’t need any more church buildings.  Church buildings will never bring the revival you seek.

The first thing needed for revival to return to your churches is the Word of the Lord.  God’s Word is missing. Sure, there are many preachers and thousands of tapes and videos of Bible teaching, but so little contains the sharp truth of God’s Word.  It’s the truth that will set you free.

Not only is knowledge of God’s Word missing, but obedience to that Word.  There’s not much action taking place.

When revival came to believers in China, the result was thousands of evangelists being sent out to all corners of the nation, carrying fire from the altar of God with them.  When God moves in the West, it seems you want to stop and enjoy his presence and blessings too long, and build an altar to your experiences.

You can never really know the Scriptures until you’re willing to be changed by them,

All genuine revivals of the Lord result in believers responding with action and soul winning.  When God truly moves in your heart, you cannot remain silent.  There will be a fire in your bones, like Jeremiah, who said, “His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.  I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot” Jeremiah 20:9.

Furthermore, it’s only when we step out in obedience and share the gospel with people that we come to know God’s blessing in every area of our lives.

If you truly want to see God move, the two main things you must do is learn the Word of God and have the obedience to do what God tells you to do.

In China, the greatest miracles we see are not the healings or other things, but lives transformed by the gospel.  We believe we are not called to follow signs and wonders but instead the signs and wonders follow us when the gospel is preached.  We don’t keep our eyes on the signs and wonders; we keep our eyes on Jesus.

Every house church pastor in China is ready to lay down his life for the gospel.  When we live this way we’ll see God do great things by his grace.

(Extracts from The Heavenly Man  – Brother Yun (with Paul Hattaway) – Pages 296-300)

If I may comment on a few things

1. Revival takes place when we are willing to be changed by the Word of God

2. A knowledge of God’s Word and Obedience to His Word are paramount to Revival

3. Genuine Revival results in soul winning and the spreading of the gospel

4. Don’t go after the miracles but rather after souls, and the miracles will follow the preaching of the gospel

5. Genuine Christian living is to lay our life down for the gospel

Dear men and women of the Kingdom of God,

We have not been called to sit and wait for the Lord, but when Jesus came he established but 3 commandments from which all the other commandments of the Old Testament and Prophets are fulfilled (matthew 22:40).  These three commandments are

1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (luke 10:27, Matt 22:37-38)

2. Love your neighbour as yourself and love each other as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it (Luke 10:27, Matt 22:39, John 13:34)

3. Preach the gospel, make disciples of ALL nations (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18)

Love God, Love Neighbour, Preach/Be a witness of the gospel and teach others to do the same.

We are not called to wait, but to go and represent the Kingdom in our everyday living.

Therefore, the meetings, bible studies, sunday services should not be the main event but rather the pit stop in which we re-fuel, re-align before we go out to continue the race we have began.

Each one of us according to Mark 16:15-18 have been called to be ministers of the gospel.  Some have been called to establish a formal work through the local church, but ALL have been called to minister the Word of God.  The best way to do that is to demonstrate the power of the Word through personal victory and then through the sharing of the word with others.  The empowered word will convict sinners to repentance and transform the saved.

Revival is here – walk in it.

God bless you

Revival Is Here…..

Dear Brothers, Sisters, Pastors and Leaders in Christ,

There has been much talk, prayer and desire over the past 20 plus years of my Christian walk of an expectation of a coming revival that will completely change the world.  We have seen waves come and go such as the Brownsville (Pensacola) Revival, Florida Revival, etc.

But what really are we asking for when we pray for revival.

The word revival actually means the following (Dictionary.com)

re⋅viv⋅al  [ri-vahy-vuhl]

–noun

1. restoration to life, consciousness, vigor, strength, etc.

2. restoration to use, acceptance, or currency: the revival of old customs.

3. an awakening, in a church or community, of interest in and care for matters relating to personal religion.

4. an evangelistic service or a series of services for the purpose of effecting a religious awakening: to hold a revival.

5. the act of reviving.

6. the state of being revived.

7. Law. the reestablishment of legal force and effect.

Of interest is the idea of restoring back to life something that has died or is no longer effective.

NOW TO ME IT seems that revival is bringing something which was dead back to life…..say if a person died of a heart attack and was given CPR and brought back to life, he is revived.  That which was once alive and now is dead and brought back to life = REVIVAL.

SO WHAT ARE WE ASKING GOD when we ask for revival?  For those dead in Christ to come back to life in Him?  For the church to once again move in power as in the days of the Acts of the Apostles?

WELL, AS I CONTINUE TO SEARCH the scriptures I seem to come back to the this conclusion

Firstly, we should not be waiting for God to send Revival, rather God is waiting for US TO BE IN REVIVAL

The task of seeing those dead in Christ but alive in sin come back to Jesus has been given to us (his witnesses upon the earth).

2 Cor 5:18 “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”

The pre-requisite for revival then is for us – The Church – to begin to be a witness of Jesus to all around us especially the dead in Christ so they may hear the good news, turn from their sins, accept the forgiveness of God and be REVIVED.

But many say they are “waiting on God for power”.  I used to say that too.  Until in my time of “waiting on God’s power” it was revealed to me through the scriptures, and through godly men of God the following;

Jesus said in Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

So we seem to wait for the power.  Little realising that Holy Spirit was poured out once for all on the day of Pentecost and He is readily available to any believer who asks.  The scripture never asks us to wait for another Pentecost.  In the same manner that Jesus died once for all sin, so the Holy Spirit was poured out (sent) once for all mankind and He is available to as many as will receive.

I have received the Holy Spirit in my life – therefore I am empowered already and do not need to “wait” for another pentecost.

It’s interesting to note that the prophets of old all prophesied about a coming messiah Jesus – even the greatest prophet John the Baptist’s sole calling was to be a voice in the desert crying out “prepare the way of the Lord”.  But John also prophesied about what Jesus was going to do (Matthew 3:11)…..

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire”

WOW – When Jesus came, it wasn’t just to pay an amazing price for our sins and to reconcile us to God, but it was also make us empowered witnesses for Him through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  He, the Holy Spirit could not be poured upon the earth until Jesus went to the cross.  However once Jesus had overcome death and paid the penalty for all of humanity’s sins, present, past and future, He sent the promise of Our Helper, God the Holy Spirit.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call. (Acts 2:38-39)

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11)

So, man and woman of God, if you have received Jesus as your saviour, then according to scripture you are in a position to receive the Power of the Holy Spirit.  And if you have received the Holy Spirit, He dwells in you.  And if He, GOD dwells within you, you are no longer dead but alive in every way, shape and form.  You are living in REVIVAL.

So, why then is the Church not moving out in power and seeing revival in the land if God has already poured out His Spirit?  Why are we still praying and waiting on God for the power?  Why are only a few chosen of God when we are ALL called to be His witnesses in power?

The reason is found in scripture and is the second reason why the Church should not be waiting for power to go out but should rather go out and the power will follow and Revival will occur

17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?(James 2:20)

In Mark 16 and Matthew 28 we (all believers) were given a commandment to go out and be witnesses (preach) the good news to all.  The word ‘GO’ is an action word and is one of works.  The promise of signs to follow would only occur when the believer is obedient to the first part of going.  Faith without works is dead – unrevived.

Therefore, faith with works is ALIVE.

We have not been asked to wait but to GO and preach and as in the days of the Apostles, God will begin to confirm the word with signs following (Mark 16:20).

To see REVIVAL in our nation and the nations will take a step of faith on our part to go and be a witness for the Lord in our workplace, neighborhood, community and world.  We are not asked to study and get a degree in theology before we go out, we have not been asked to start an organised church before people will come.

Although these are noble acts and some may have been called to this, everyone has been called to be a witness.  And the only conditions are to go in the power of the Holy Spirit and speak, act and do the things of God as a witness of who He is.  God will do the rest.

Faith is dead and useless without works.  Your calling as a Christian is not just to be saved but to continue carrying the message of hope in your vessel which is now a vessel of honor for the Lord.

My challenge to you and to me is to begin to DO the works of God and live in a continuous state of REVIVAL.  Then we will truly see our homes, families, communities and nations blessed.

God bless you.

Revival is here – it’s up to you to walk in it.

God has not changed his word neither will the devil change his tactics.  The only think that will make a difference in our lives is to CHANGE OUR MINDS

Romans 12:2 – Be Transformed by the Renewing of Your MINDs…….

Change your Mind today towards the things of God.  Let the word come alive in your life and you will see REVIVAL instantaneously.

Let the Word and the Spirit of God be your reality not the world and the spirits around you.

Be blessed

God blessed Abraham’s son Isaac and Isaac dwelt by a well (Gen 25:11).  A well represents life, being the only source of fresh water in the desert.  God blessed Isaac & he had twins (double blessing).  However, there was a famine in the land and Isaac was told by God to move to the land of Gerar, the land of the Philistines.

Isaac began to re-dig the wells of water his father Abraham had once dug but was now blocked (Gen 26:18).  Isaac called each well by the name his father had called them.  Jeremiah 6:16 says to ask the Lord for the ancient paths, the good way and to walk in it.  Isaac recognized that for him to survive he needed fresh water and rather than trying to find new wells he re-dug the wells of his ancestor.  God’s principals do not change, they remain the same from age to age.

It is time to re-dig those wells in your life, go back to the ancient paths of the Ancient of Days – God and as Jeremiah 6:16 states you WILL find rest for your souls.

Yes, it will be difficult to re-dig those wells.  In fact the first two wells Isaac re-dug caused strife with the Philistine’s herdsman,  but finally the third well caused no strife, and there was room for Isaac to pitch his tent.  Make a change in your life today.  Start to re-dig the wells that God has already allocated for you.  The deep clean water of God’s word will bring life to your circumstances.

“If you want to sow this seed in your life, click here to find out how, then use the prayer below as a sample of taking action.”

Pray:
Repent
Father God, I humble myself before you and repent of not taking a hold of your promises in my life and letting the enemy infiltrate and block my wells of finance, health, relationships, etc.  I am sorry.  I ask for the blood of Jesus to cleanse me of my sin

Declare
In the name of Jesus Christ I command the enemy to release its hold on my finances, health, relationships, etc.  I command my wells to be unblocked in the name of Jesus Christ.  Lord I thank you for the ancient paths being re-established in my life.  Amen

“Where there is no vision the people perish (Proverbs 19:3a)”.  We have heard this many times.  But what does it mean?  We understand that vision is something we must all have if we want to be successful.  We must set goals.  Even the world is taught this.  Corporate businesses have visions and goals so that they can succeed.  The saying “…if you fail to plan you plan to fail”, holds true.

What does this mean to you as a child of God who desires to see God’s kingdom advance on this earth?  It is not just about setting goals that seem godly and righteous.  Goals such as “I want to see the lost saved”, or “I want to start and grow a large local church”, or “I want to read my bible in one year”, are just as ineffective and selfish (yes selfish) as saying “I want to be a millionaire”, or “I want to build the biggest business”, or “I want to lose weight”.  Why?

If there is no ultimate end in mind, then the vision and goal becomes an end in itself and is selfish.  Therefore, we must ask another question first.  What is God’s purpose for us on earth and in with that end in mind, set goals and establish a vision.

God’s purpose for us on this earth is a Three Phase Vision
1. That we become a child of God the Father (attain adoption of sonship and the inheritance of a heir)
2. That we fulfill the great commission left behind by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (God the Son) – Preach the message to all creation, every tongue and tribe.
3. That the glory of God would fill the earth through the power of the Holy Spirit with signs and wonder following including healing, deliverances, miracles, etc.

Now, based on this Three Phase Vision, any goal and vision we set for our personal life, corporate life, family life, etc, will have a purpose to fulfill And that not only includes “reading my bible in a year”, or  “praying daily”, but also “being a millionaire”, or “owning a private jet”, or “having a successful business”, etc.

Don’t feel condemned to write goals that don’t seem spiritual (such as losing weight, etc) as long as you understand that it fulfills a greater purpose of the Three Phase Vision of God.  Be careful you don’t set goals that seem spiritual and might make you feel superior to others but is not based on the Three Phase Vision of God.  This is selfish and will bring death into your life ultimately.

If you have no vision and no goals, you are as good as dead.  There is no life and push to exist.  There is no purpose making you like a blind man caught in a field of pits.

Set goals, have a vision, have a great vision, the God of the impossible is with you and if you are wrong He will correct your path.  But as they say a moving ship is easier to steer than a still one.  Therefore if you have goals and visions you are moving and it is easier to steer and make course corrections.

When God created the world, He had a purpose, that man would be made in God’s image and have the freedom to love God and worship him.  It started with a vision (Let us create man in our image).  When Jesus came to this earth He had a vision and purpose, to save mankind from eternal death because of Adam’s sin in the garden.  He fulfilled it even though the enemy tried to sabotage it.  When the Holy Spirit was promised to the disciples including us today, there was a clear purpose, to empower us, to teach and lead us in all truth and to convict the world of sin.

If setting goals are important to God, how much more to you and me?  Set goals in your life.  Even if it is as simple as to get up earlier in the morning, or spend more time with your kids, spouse, loved one.  Set goals.  Make sure those goals are with the three phase vision in mind.

“If you want to sow this seed in your life, click here to find out how, then use the prayer below as a sample of taking action.”

Pray:
Repent
Father, forgive me for not having goals and a purpose in my life or for having goals that were selfish and self-centered even if they had a form of godliness.  I am sorry.

Declare
In the name of Jesus Christ I speak the three phase vision of God into my life and my environment and I speak purpose in my life.  I choose to step out in vision and set goals for my life.  In Jesus name.  Amen
